Our Heroes to Hire program is for transitioning service members with valuable experience and training opportunities in vehicle maintenance and repair, often with a path to full-time employment. These internships are specifically designed for active-duty service members within their last 120 days of service and are typically unpaid.
Key aspects of a SkillBridge mechanic internship:
- Hands-on training: Interns get practical experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, including diesel equipment, automotive systems, and potentially aircraft.
- Skill development: Interns gain skills in areas like troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, using specialized tools, and potentially welding/fabrication.
- Career transition: The program aims to equip service members with the skills and experience needed to transition into civilian mechanic roles.
- Path to full-time employment: We provide a conditional offer for full-time employment upon successful completion of the internship.
